Since the Alaskan Malamute is a very active breed the life span of this breed  can not be expected to be too long. A survey conducted by the UKKC (United Kingdom Kennel Club) to determine the life span of the malamute breed in 2004 revealed that among fourteen dogs taken into consideration for the survey the life span was measured and it was found to be 10.7 years. The sad fact revealed in the surveys conducted was that all the dogs died of cancer. Almost 36% of the malamute dog breed die of cancer. The dog is one of the oldest breeds of the canines. This intelligent breed of malamutes need to remain active at all times, if the dog isn’t entertained the dog may become inactive and get bored of living. So, following correct feeding habits and activities would keep your malamute live long.
