The malamute dog is a sled dog, which was originally used as a hunting dog and a companion. These days their primary purpose still is to be a sled dog in certain snow-covered areas. They have a very friendly nature, and are very protective of their families. They have the tendency to socialize with other people and other animals. The strong well-built artic dog has a thick boorish double coat and a furry tail. The outer coat is rough and hard while the inner one is fatty and woolly. They have strong legs and large paws. In order to avoid too much exposure to the cold they also have fur in-between their toes.
These Dogs are found in varied colors such as white, black and white red, sable, and wolf gray.
